| Sky Blue FC Signs Taylor |
Defender Brittany Taylor has signed a three year contract with defending Women's Professional Soccer champion Sky Blue FC. Taylor was drafted No. 6-overall by the team in January's WPS Draft. Taylor starred for Sky Blue FC's W-League affiliate, the Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues, in 2009, where she helped the team to a W-League Regular Season Championship and was named W-League Defender of the Year. She also had four standout years at UCONN and is in the United States National Team player pool. "Brittany Taylor exemplifies the type of player that we want with Sky Blue FC," General Manager Gerry Marrone stated. "She arrived at training yesterday after a long trip from Connecticut and signed her contract on the counter at the Bob Smith Soccer Academy. Then she immediately walked onto the field and buried the first five balls she touched into the upper 90. It drove home what a special player we have in Brittany." |
